With ignition switch OFF, remove quarter lower trim of applicable side.
2)
Disconnect connector “Q04” or “Q06” connector from seat belt pretensioner.
3)
Check proper connection to applicable seat belt pretensioner at terminals in “Q04” or “Q06” connector.
4)
If OK, then connect special tools (A), (B) and (C) to “Q04” or “Q06” connector.
With ignition switch ON, does DTC B1044 or B1048 still exist?

Go to Step 2.
|
Ignition switch OFF.
Replace seat belt pretensioner referring to
Front Seat Belt with Pretensioner Removal and Installation
.

1)
With ignition switch OFF, disconnect special tools (A), (B) and (C) from “Q04” or “Q06” connector.
2)
Disconnect connector “L31” or “L33” from air bag wire harness in floor harness.
3)
Check proper connection to air bag wire harness at terminals in “L31” or “L33” connector.
4)
If OK, then connect special tools (B) and (D) to “L31” or “L33” connector.
With ignition switch ON, does DTC B1044 or B1048 still exist?

Go to Step 3.
|
Repair short “YEL” or “YEL/RED” wire circuit to power circuit.

1)
With ignition switch OFF, disconnect special tools (B) and (D) from seat belt pretensioner wire harness connector “L31” or “L33”.
2)
Disconnect SDM connector “Q60” from SDM.
3)
Measure voltage.
a)
DTC B1044: between “G102-11” terminal and body ground, and between “G102-12” terminal and body ground.
With ignition switch ON, is voltage 1 V or less?

Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.

DTC B1044:
Repair short “WHT” or “PNK” wire circuit to power circuit.
DTC B1048:
Repair short from “BRN” or “LT GRN” wire circuit to power circuit.
