Driver seat belt pretensioner (RH steering vehicle)
1. From main fuse 4. SDM 7. Ground for air bag system
2. Ignition switch 5. Driver seat belt pretensioner (LH steering vehicle)
Passenger seat belt pretensioner (RH steering vehicle)

CAUTION:
Be sure to perform Air Bag Diagnostic System Check before starting diagnosis according to the flow.
When measurement of resistance or voltage is required in this flow, use a specified digital multimeter (Refer to Special Tool .) along with a correct terminal adapter from special tool (Connector test adapter kit).
When a check for proper connection is required, refer to Inspection of Intermittents and Poor Connections .
If there is open circuit in the air bag wire harness, connector or terminal is found damaged, replace the wire harness, connector and terminal as an assembly.
DTC Will Set when
The resistance of driver or passenger seat belt pretensioner initiator circuit is above a specified value for specified time.
Flow Test Description
Step 1: Check whether malfunction is in seat belt pretensioner.
Step 2: Check seat belt pretensioner initiator circuit in seat belt pretensioner harness.
Step 3: Check seat belt pretensioner initiator circuit in air bag harness.
Troubleshooting
Step Action YES NO
1
1) With ignition switch OFF, remove quarter lower trim of applicable side.
2) Disconnect connector “Q04” or “Q06” connector from seat belt pretensioner.
3) Check proper connection to applicable seat belt pretensioner at terminals in “Q04” or “Q06” connector.
4) If OK, then connect special tools (A), (B) and (C) to “Q04” or “Q06” connector.
Special Tool
(A) : 09932–76010
(B) : 09932–75010
(C) : 09932–78310
With ignition switch ON, does DTC B1041 or B1045 still exist?
Go to Step 2.
Ignition switch OFF.
Replace seat belt pretensioner referring to Front Seat Belt with Pretensioner Removal and Installation .
2
1) With ignition switch OFF, disconnect special tools (A), (B) and (C) from “Q04” or “Q06” connector.
2) Disconnect connector “L31” or “L33” from air bag wire harness in floor harness.
3) Check proper connection to air bag wire harness at terminals in “L31”or “L33” connector.
4) If OK, then connect special tools (B) and (D) to “L31” or “L33” connector.
Special Tool
(A) : 09932–76010
(B) : 09932–75010
(C) : 09932–78310
(D) : 09932–78340
With ignition switch ON, does DTC B1041 or B1045 still exist?
Go to Step 3.
Repair high resistance or open in “YEL” or “YEL/RED” wire circuit.
3
1) With ignition switch OFF, disconnect SDM connector “G102”.
2) Check proper connection between “G102-11” and “G102-12” or “G102-6” and “G102-5”.
3) If OK, measure resistance with connected special tools (B) and (D).
Special Tool
(B) : 09932–75010
(D) : 09932–78340
a) DTC B1041: between “G102-12” and “G102-11” terminals.
Special Tool
(A) : 09932–76010
b) DTC B1045: between “G102-5” and “G102-6” terminals.
Special Tool
(A) : 09932–76010
Is resistance 4.5 Ω or less?
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
DTC B1041:
Repair high resistance or open in “PNK” or “WHT” wire circuit.
DTC B1045:
Repair high resistance or open in “BRN” or “LT GRN” wire circuit.
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.
Reconnect all air bag system components, ensure all components are properly mounted.
Clear DTCs (Refer to DTC Clearance .), if any.
Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
