Forward Clutch & Input Shaft Assembly Disassembly and Reassembly - Suzuki Jimny Workshop Manual

1) Remove 2 seal rings (1) from input shaft (2).

2) Remove snap ring (1) from input shaft (2).

3) Remove forward clutch disc set (separator plate (1), 5 friction discs (2), 4 friction plates (3) and retaining plate (4)) from input shaft (5).

4) Using special tool and hydraulic press, compress forward clutch piston return spring (1) and remove snap ring (2) from input shaft (3).

5) Remove forward clutch balancer (4) and forward clutch piston return spring (1) from input shaft (3).

6) Blow air into oil passage (1) in input shaft (2) to remove forward clutch piston (3) from input shaft (2).

7) Remove O-ring (4) from input shaft (2).

1) After applying A/T fluid to new O-ring (1), install it to input shaft (2).

2) Install forward clutch piston (3), forward clutch piston return spring (4) and forward clutch balancer (5) to input shaft (2).

3) Using special tool and hydraulic press, compress forward clutch piston return spring (1) and install new snap ring (2) to input shaft (3).

4) Install forward clutch disc set (retaining plate (1), 5 friction discs (2), 4 friction plates (3) and separator plate (4)) to input shaft (5).

5) Install snap ring (1) to input shaft (2).

6) Check piston stroke of forward clutch referring to Forward Clutch & Input Shaft Assembly Inspection .

7) After applying A/T fluid to 2 new seal rings (1), install them to input shaft (2).
