41: Vehicle Speed Malfunction
Vehicle speed signal is not input for specified time at driving. |
•
Vehicle speed sensor and/or its circuit
• Other ECU that inputs vehicle speed signal • 4WD control module |
| Step | Action | YES | NO |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Vehicle speed sensor power supply circuit check
1)
Disconnect vehicle speed sensor connector with ignition switch turned OFF.
2)
Measure voltage between “BLU/BLK” wire terminal of vehicle speed sensor connector and engine ground with ignition switch turned ON.
Is voltage 10 – 14 V?
|
Go to Step 2.
|
Repair or replace vehicle speed sensor power supply circuit.
|
| 2 |
Vehicle speed sensor ground circuit check
1)
Measure voltage between “BLU/BLK” wire terminal and “BLK/ORN” wire terminal of vehicle speed sensor connector with ignition switch turned ON.
Is voltage 10 – 14 V?
|
Go to Step 3.
|
Repair or replace vehicle speed sensor ground circuit.
|
| 3 |
Vehicle speed sensor signal circuit check
1)
Measure voltage between “YEL/GRN” wire terminal of vehicle speed sensor connector and vehicle body ground with ignition switch turned ON.
Is voltage 4 – 6 V?
|
Replace vehicle speed sensor.
|
Go to Step 4.
|
| 4 |
Vehicle speed sensor signal circuit check
1)
Disconnect 4WD control module connector with ignition switch OFF.
2)
Check vehicle speed sensor signal circuit (“YEL/GRN” wire) for open, short to ground and short to power circuit.
Is it in good condition?
|
Substitute a known-good 4WD control module and recheck.
|
Go to Step 5.
|
| 5 |
Vehicle speed sensor signal circuit check
1)
Disconnect connector of other ECU that inputs vehicle speed sensor signal with ignition switch OFF.
2)
Check vehicle speed sensor signal circuit (“YEL/GRN” wire) for open, short to ground and short to power circuit.
Is it in good condition?
|
Substitute a known-good other ECU that inputs vehicle speed sensor signal and recheck.
|
Repair or replace vehicle speed sensor signal circuit.
