4WD Control System Operation Inspection
NOTE:
If it is difficult to shift from “2H” to “4H” while vehicle is moving, stop vehicle and push and release “4WD” switch once with vehicle at stop.
If it is difficult to shift transfer from “4H” to “2H” while vehicle is moving, try accelerating and decelerating several times after pushing “2WD” switch. Be sure to wait until traffic conditions allow you to accelerate and decelerate safely before using this procedure.
If it is difficult to shift between from “4H” to “4L” or from “2H” to “4L”, try moving vehicle slowly back or forth a few feet while 4WD low indicator is blinking. Be sure to wait until traffic conditions allow you to move vehicle safely before using this procedure.
Also, when shifting to the “4L” position, gear grinding noise may be generated under low temperature condition. In that case, move the vehicle backward slowly.
4WD indicator blinks when transfer is shifting from “2H” to “4H” or from “4H” to “2H”.
4WD low indicator blinks and warning buzzer sounds during shift operation between “4H” or “2H” and “4L”.
For details of 4WD indicator, 4WD low indicator and warning buzzer operation, refer to “Indicator and Warning Buzzer Operation” in 4WD Control System Description .
