Starting Motor Removal and Installation
For M13 Engine
1. Starting motor 3. Transmission case 5. Starting motor mounting nut 7. Battery cable
2. Clutch housing upper plate 4. Starting motor mounting bolt 6. Magnetic switch lead wire icon : Tightening torque
Removal
1) Disconnect negative (–) battery lead at battery.
2) Disconnect magnetic switch lead wire and battery cable from starting motor terminals.
3) Remove starting motor mount bolts and nut.
4) Remove starting motor.
Installation
Reverse the removal procedure.
For K9K Engine
1. Starting motor 3. Battery cable nut icon : Tightening torque
2. Magnetic switch lead wire nut 4. Starting motor mount bolt    
Removal
1) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2) Remove fuel filter referring to Fuel Filter Removal and Installation:K9K .
3) Remove oil level gauge tube.
4) Disconnect magnetic switch lead wire and battery cable from starting motor terminals.
5) Remove starting motor mount bolt.
6) Remove starting motor.
Installation
Reverse the removal procedure noting the following.
• Tighten starting motor mount bolts to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Starting motor mount bolt : 45 N·m ( 4.5 kg-m, 33.0 lb-ft)
