Common Rail (High Pressure Fuel Injection Rail) Removal and Installation
CAUTION:
Never remove fuel pressure sensor from common rail because this may cause fuel circuit contamination problems. If fuel pressure sensor fails, common rail and all high pressure pipes must be replaced.
Removal
1) Check that engine is cold and fuel pressure is not under pressure referring to Fuel Pressure Relief Confirmation Procedure:K9K .
2) Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
3) Remove all high pressure pipes (1) referring to High Pressure Pipes Removal and Installation:K9K .
4) Disconnect connector from fuel pressure sensor (2).
5) Remove common rail (3).
Installation
1) Install common rail and tighten nuts (1) temporarily by hand.
2) Install new high pressure pipes and then tighten common rail nut referring to High Pressure Pipes Removal and Installation:K9K .
3) Connect connector to fuel pressure sensor.
4) Connect negative (–) cable to battery.
5) Check fuel leakage referring to Fuel Leakage Check:K9K .
