Knock Sensor Removal and Installation
Removal
1) Check that engine is cold and fuel pressure is not under pressure referring to Fuel Pressure Relief Confirmation Procedure:K9K .
2) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
3) Drain coolant referring to Cooling System Draining:K9K .
4) Remove injection pump to common rail high pressure pipe referring to High Pressure Pipes Removal and Installation:K9K .
5) Remove water pipe (1).
6) Disconnect knock sensor connector (2).
7) Remove knock sensor (3) from cylinder block.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following.
• Check O-ring of water pipe for damage and replace if necessary.
• Tighten knock sensor (1) to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Knock sensor ( a ): 20 N·m ( 2.0 kg-m, 14.5 lb-ft)
• Refill coolant referring to Cooling System Refill:K9K .
• Install high pressure pipe referring to High Pressure Pipes Removal and Installation:K9K .
