DTC Confirmation Procedure
1) With ignition switch turned OFF, connect scan tool.
2) Turn ON ignition switch and clear DTC using scan tool.
3) Start engine.
4) Check DTC and pending DTC.
DTC Troubleshooting
Step Action YES NO
1
Was “Engine and Emission Control System Check” performed?
Go to Step 2.
2
Signal circuit check
1) Turn OFF ignition switch.
2) Measure voltage at terminal “E119-35” of ECM connector, under the following condition.
Voltage at terminal “E119-35” of ECM connector
While engine cranking: 6 – 14 V
After starting engine: 0 – 1 V
Is each voltage within specified?
Poor “E119-35” connection or intermittent trouble. Check for intermittent referring to Intermittent and Poor Connection Inspection .
If wire and connections are OK, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
“BLK/RED” (A/T vehicle) or “BLK/YEL” (M/T vehicle) wire in open circuit or high resistance circuit.
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform “DTC Confirmation Procedure” and confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
